Cancellations
If Scotia Fishing makes the decision to cancel coaching or guiding sessions due to extreme weather conditions beyond their control, for example very high winds making casting dangerous, or water conditions/levels on rivers in spate, or for any other reason; then a full refund minus any non-recoverable costs will be given or an alternate date offered, whichever is acceptable to the client.
Almost all fishing guides are self-employed and rely on this as their main source of income. Upon booking your day the guide cannot accept any further work opportunities on that day, therefore cancelling your date seriously limits their chance of earning money on that day.
All cancellations by client are non recoverable unless otherwise agreed.
If less than 100 days’ notice all cancellations by the client are 100% non-refundable.
Any rearranged bookings after a cancellation must take place within a twelve-month period and will incur a re-booking fee of £250 plus any additional costings.
All multi-party fishing trips are 100% non-refundable. Rescheduling of multi party days will incur a 5o% reschedule fee plus any non-recoverable costings.
Cancelling multi-guided fishing days, pre-made fishing breaks or packages regardless of the duration of notice provided are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed.
If fishing permits, catering, accommodations or any other arrangements have been made for a client’s booking, which has resulted in costs to Scotia Fishing that cannot be recovered from any third party supplier and that booking is cancelled for any reason then those costs will still be chargeable and will be recovered from the client.
Any rebookings from COVID-19 cancellations will be allowed one reschedule date free of charge. Any further reschedules will incur a £250 rebooking fee.
If conditions are unsuitable on the river or loch we will do our best to reschedule alternative fishing on the day. This may be for another fish species.
This may incur additional permit costs.
All Vouchers are 100% non-refundable.
COVID-19 Cancellations
Booked/Paid trips cancelled due to Covid-19 up until 31st May 2020 will be allowed full credit applied to a rescheduled date within 36 months.
All bookings cancelled due to travel restrictions caused by COVID-19 will receive a credit minus any non-recoverable costings to reschedule within 36 months.
Any bookings cancelled where-by no travel restrictions are in place and therefore the decision to cancel is a voluntary measure, no refund will occur.
All original COVID-19 cancellations will be allowed an initial free rebooking within 36 months of the original date. Any additional/further reschedules following this will be subject to a £250 rebooking fee.
Any rescheduled dates that incur any additionally risen costings to third-party suppliers eg. fishing permits & hotels will all be recoverable by the client.
We advise all clients purchase the appropriate travel insurance to cover them financially under all circumstances upon booking their trip. Scotia Fishing will assist with any travel insurance claims.
