Saltwater Fishing
Scotland

We offer an exciting range of guided saltwater fishing trips in Scotland. Scotland is home to some 5000 miles of stunning coastline with pristine sandy beaches and cliff lined shores. Scotia Fishing has access to some of the most exciting salt water boat and shore fishing in Scotland with the opportunity to target hard fighting species like Pollock, Wrasse and Sea Trout.

Pollock are pound for pound the hardest fighting fish in UK waters. They offer exceptional sport on a fly rod and equally as fun on modern lure fishing methods. Once hooked Pollock will instantly crash dive down to the depths to reach the kelp. The fun part is your mission to stop them in their tracks, giving them as little line as possible to prevent them snagging you. The power to size ratio is extraordinary and why we regard them highly as one of the finest targets on fly or lure tackle. We can tailor guided saltwater fishing packages from both shore and boat.

Ballan Wrasse are an awesome sport fish, they have individual markings, fight hard and will readily take a lure. Our head guide is one of the pioneering anglers of this area of sport in Scotland. Ballan Wrasse are powerful fish for their size, they are dirty fighters and once hooked you must put the hurt down on them to prevent them snagging you up in the rocks. At certain times of year Wrasse are available in large numbers around our coast, once located action comes thick and fast with bites almost every cast! Fishing for Wrasse on light lure tackle is tremendous fun and something we would thoroughly recommend to try.

Sea Trout fishing in saltwater offers you the chance to catch these mini bars of silver in peak condition! They feed heavily when in saltwater making them more aggressive, inquisitive and ultimately easier to catch. Once hooked an acrobatic fight will ensue and be warned they are experts at unhooking themselves!

We can catch Wrasse and Pollock together on most of our marks.

Boat fishing allows easier access to the fishing but will require a good set of sea legs.

Shore fishing involves a lot of walking and climbing over uneven terrain so you must have a moderate level of fitness and be steady on your legs.

We recommend a minimum 2 days and 2 night stay for optimum fishing time due to logistics.
